OUR STORY

How it all started...

Harvest Church has a rich history of faith, community, and mission in Horsham and beyond. Our journey began in 1983 when a small group of believers came together in a living room with a shared vision: to love God, grow together, and reach the world with the message of Jesus Christ.

Originally meeting in the Horsham Town Hall, the church quickly grew as people encountered the power of the Holy Spirit and the life-changing message of the gospel. In 1991, we established our first permanent home, providing a place for worship, discipleship, and community impact.

Over the years, under the leadership of incredible men and women of faith, Harvest Church has expanded its reach, investing in local ministries, youth and children’s programs, and global missions. The church over many years has invested in church planting in the surrounding region and currently has 2 locations with more in the future.

Today, led by Senior Pastors Andrew and Rachel Cartledge, Harvest Church is a thriving faith community with a heart for revival. As part of the Australian Christian Churches movement, we stand on a foundation of Pentecostal faith, believing in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring transformation and renewal.

With a commitment to planting seeds of faith, growing in discipleship, and seeing a harvest of changed lives, we continue to step forward with expectation. Our history is still being written, and we invite you to be a part of it.

MISSION & VISION

As new people move into the Church, they are encouraged to love God passionately and to firmly plant themselves in His house. This looks like committing to attend a weekly worship service and be a part of the body.

As people connect and plant, they are further encouraged to grow in connection with others and their understanding of who God is. Being a part of a connect group or a community is where discipleship really happens.

The final stage in our missional process is to reach the world, and we do this by committing to share the gospel with friends and family, by serving on a team and supporting missions programs locally and around the globe.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
