Persistence is a word that for me brings back some bad memories. Mum always telling me to stick at something, Dad encouraging me to “Never Give Up”, constant reminders that practice makes perfect. I’m not the most patient when it comes to learning new skills. I just want to be good at something right from the start. So persistence for me is a dirty word. But an essential word.
If Rachel and I hadn’t learned how to persist, particularly in what was difficult, we would never have accomplished anything of merit or note in our lives. Persistence brings patience, not the other way around. I find that the more I persist, the more patient I become.
Persistence is what gets us through hard times. It is the true grit that we require if we want to grow. But where persistence is required, weariness is knocking at our door. Have you ever felt like that? Just when you know there is more required it often feels like the last thing you are capable of. The bible tells us in Galatians 6:9 - “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Let me tell you that you are capable of more than you think. There is always more. More for you, more for your family, more for your business. Stand firm, dig deep, persist.
As you will have seen on Sunday we held our first live service with 20 people. It was fantastic to have church back in the building on a Sunday morning and the feedback we have received from people watching online was that it felt like church! We are going to continue running live services each Sunday Morning. And as much as we would love to have everyone attend, we are limited by Government restrictions.
So if you would like to be able to attend a service, please click this link to register your interest. Will try our absolute best to cater for as many people as we can. Please also bear in mind that initially there will not be a kids program. We can’t wait to worship together in person!!
Midweek Zoom Meetings
The midweek Zoom meetings and devotions will be taking a break for the time being. BUT stay tuned for some exciting new things happening next term!
