This weekend is significant for us as Pastors and as a family as it marks 1 year from the first time we were invited to speak at Harvest Church and to meet with the Elders and Pastors. Reflecting on this, it was such a key moment in our personal and ministry history. We firmly believe that God called us to Horsham and to pastor and lead such a tremendous church in a key and strategic part of our country. And that hasn’t changed a bit.

We realised recently that since arriving fulltime in December we have had to pastor Harvest church for longer in lockdown than without restrictions. As much as this has had it’s challenges, we have still seen the church come together even though we can’t meet together. As a team, we have also had to boost our creativity to new levels to launch services online and to communicate in new ways.

But at the heart of all of this, The Church, You, The Body of Christ is about way more than a service. Because of the generosity of our house we have been able to donate over 500 face masks to the elderly and vulnerable in our region with heaps more on the way. Because of faithful giving, we have been able to deliver hampers of hope to families and individuals right through our region. We have also heard so many personal stories of the church being the Church and reaching out to be Jesus’ hands and feet in our community.

One Scripture that keeps coming to mind. Galatians 6:9 NIV “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” I really believe that “doing good” is one of the key indicators of discipleship. We aren’t saved because we do good but rather we do good because we are saved. I also believe that doing good is energising!!

Let’s continue now, more than ever before to do good in our community.

We love you!
