Course Overview

The Local Church Certificate in Ministry provides a unique opportunity to develop and connect the body of Christ. Based upon Southern Cross College's excellent distance learning modules, students spend tine reflecting and studying at their own pace. Each subject is delivered via DVD, thus turning the tutorial into a lecture room.

A facilitator oversees the group, encouraging and providing guidance with the course material and DVD lectures. Eight subjects are covered, providing the student sound, practical grounding in the word of God.

The fieldwork component (practicum subjects) of the course provides 25% hands-on training in the local church, a valuable asset to any Senior Pastor. This program is an amazing opportunity to not only empower the individual but will also provide a safe environment in which to develop relationships. Regardless of your background or age group, this course brings with it the uniting bond of the Word and invariably, community.

Course Delivery

Southern Cross College supplies most of the resources that students need to complete each subject. (Some readings will come from textbooks which the student is required to purchase).

Each Student receives a CD-ROM containing:

  • Digital audio lectures
  • Lecture outlines
  • Supplementary readings and resources
  • Links to further information
  • Assessment requirements
