Our Team

Rick is the Senior Associate to Pastor Derek, where he oversees Harvest Media, the Young Adults & young marrieds. He also serves in the Worship Team with his wife Christina, and is a passionate and enthusiastic worship leader. He loves to see the church stretch to new, untapped levels both in their worship and personal walk with God.

Ruth is the Office Manager of Harvest Church, and Youth Pastor oversighting under 18's with her husband Aaron. In 2008 she completed 3 years at Hillsong International Leadership College, specialising in her passion - Youth Ministry. She is a young, lovely inspirational woman who is keen to further the vision of Harvest, and will bring something fresh to the team. She has a contagious & teachable approach to life, and is a great asset to our Church.

Chris & Annette Smith oversight the children's department , ages 2-5 year olds & 6-12 year olds. Both Chris & Annette see this as a ministry and not a child-minding service, they are passionate and enthusiastic and have a tremendous vision for the children of Harvest Church. The same passion is very noticeable in the team that they are raising up.

Jono loves to lead people into the presence of God, and has a vast experience with music and instruments. He has a passion to train and disciple the Worship Team and to develop their skills and hunger for the things of God. Jono is also a trained Primary School Chaplain for the Wimmera region.

Lisa has been serving in the area of music and vocals from a young age, growing up alongside her parents in ministry. A gifted musician in her own right Lisa trains people by developing their vocal skills. She enjoys theatrical and gospel music and has a broad understanding of many styles. Lisa a much loved and valued team member who is happily who has seen the fulfilment of various musical productions within the local church, directing alongside her team. Lisa is happily married to Ronnie, a respected member of the eldership team and sound technician; she is also a mother to her two champion children.

He is passionate about evolving technology in the Audio & Lighting fields, also serving as a Board Member. Married with 2 children, he has been involved in the Church Worship Department for 25 years in different roles. He loves working with the technical team and being involved in weekly ministry, and helping out with any projects within the Church.

Andrew is a dedicated member of our team who is exceptionally gifted in all aspects of multimedia, sharing his knowledge to assist where needed. Developing challenges that consistently arise in these areas, Andrew is persistent and always open to fresh new ideas. Nothing is ever too much for Andrew, always helpful and available to serve.

Sue has served selflessly from the time Harvest Christian Church has been established, organising and co-ordinating catering for various needs throughout our church. Mother of four grown children, her constant commitment and nurturing care is never short in reaching and serving others. Sue is happily married to Jeff Moore who is an integral member of the eldership and appointed church secretary on the finance board.

Wendy has experienced a journey of her own in the area of missions, travelling to Uganda in 1991 and several overseas mission trips, seeing 1st hand the trials and challenges facing those on the front line of needs in 3rd world countries. Wendy’s passion flows on into our own local community, with a heart for those who are without, always giving and challenged by the enormous burden of others. Wendy is happily married to Steve a valued member of the eldership, and is also a mother to her two sensational children.

Shirl is a highly energetic and an extremely encouraging woman. Shirl’s love of reading and knowledge is evident in her desire to pass and share this with others. Shirl has overseen the development of the church library. She is always willing to recommend and guide you to a ‘good read’. Also known as: ‘The Sticker Lady’, for her joy in the kids of our church and giving them stickers each week. Shirl is happily married to John who heads up our connect groups in the church.

Anne has established herself in Horsham, serving enthusiastically throughout her time here. She has been involved since day one as our representative at the ‘Christian Emergence Food Centre’, allowing her ministry to overflow into many people’s lives, giving and supporting those around her in every practical way. Anne is happily married to Dan who is loved and appreciated in the church.
