Harvest’s Personality: Defines Our Culture

Hospitality – The word hospitality denotes kindness, friendliness & generosity. Harvest is devoted to demonstrating such qualities ensuring that we posses a warm and welcoming spirit with those we come in contact with. “…practise hospitality.” Romans 12:13, “we ought therefore to show hospitality” 3 John: 8, “Offer hospitality to one another…” 1 Peter 4:9 (NIV)

Artistic – We are a progressive church given to fresh, creative and innovative ideas. Harvest is committed to developing people’s talents in the field of creative arts, music, song, dance and drama. We believe in the unique gifting of the individual, a person doesn’t have to be a carbon copy when they can be an original. “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11

Relevant – We are a purpose driven bible based church committed to communicating the gospel through contemporary means. We recognise that Christ was approachable, relatable, practical and clearly communicated the truth in a manner that related to every day life. We are a church dedicated to the ministry of the Holy Spirit and recognise the importance of being relevant in the supernatural as well as the natural. “Whatever a person is like, I will try and find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him” I Corinthians 9:22 (LB)

Visionary – We are a ground breaking, faith filled, pioneering church given to Apostolic and prophetic leadership. Harvest is an arrow head church committed to church planting and living above and beyond the spiritual status quo. We are a church with a vision to proclaim the gospel locally, nationally and internationally. Our aim is to stretch and challenge ourselves not settling for small thinking rather maximum impact. Excellence – We are a church that is committed to a 24ct gold reputation, believing that excellence honours God and inspires people. Our goal is to pursue this outstanding quality in all aspects of our church corporately and individually. “…an excellent spirit was in him” Daniel 6:3 (NIV)

Serving – We are a church that champions the volunteer spirit and is committed to empowering people’s gifts and talents into acts of service, one to each other and the needs of the community. “Serve one another in love” Galatians 5;13 (NIV)

Training – We are a church committed to cultivating an environment that builds peoples potential, by helping them to discover their God given purpose and destiny, and increasing their understanding of the Bible.
